Terms of service

The agreement

These terms apply when you use Smartklik Video Editor at https://video-editor.smartklik.si. The operator is Smartklik, računalniško programiranje in svetovanje, Marko Lovrić s.p.. By using the service you accept these terms and the privacy policy.

Your content

You own everything you create. We do not claim ownership of your media or exports. Editing and export happen on your device. We do not license your videos back from you.

• No Smartklik watermark on exports
• You keep intellectual-property rights in your own footage
• You are responsible for having the rights to any media you import

Acceptable use

You may use the editor for personal, educational, or commercial work. You may not:

• Use it for anything illegal in your jurisdiction
• Attack, scrape, or overload the service
• Bypass rate limits or impersonate the operator
• Upload or generate content you do not have the right to use

Stock media and sounds

The Pexels tab, Pixabay tab, and Sounds tab retrieve media from Pexels, Pixabay, and Freesound. Those libraries have their own license terms. Importing an item into your project does not transfer ownership to us, and it does not replace your duty to credit or license that item as the provider requires.

Accounts and local data

An account is optional. Projects are stored in your browser. We cannot restore them if you clear site data, switch browsers, or lose the device. Export important work when you finish.

AI features

Transcription runs in your browser with an on-device model; your audio is not uploaded. The other AI features — image generation, voiceover, and caption translation or cleanup — send the text you provide to an external provider (OpenAI, Google, or ElevenLabs, depending on this deployment). The privacy policy sets out exactly what is sent.

All of it can be inaccurate. Transcripts mishear words, translations shift meaning, and generated images and voices can be wrong or unsuitable. You are responsible for checking any generated output before you publish it.

Rights in generated output are governed by the terms of the provider that produced it, not by us. If you intend to use generated material commercially, check that provider’s terms yourself. We make no warranty that output is original, that it does not resemble other material, or that it is free of third-party rights.

Do not use these features for unlawful material, for content that impersonates a real person’s voice or likeness without their consent, or for anything the provider’s own usage policies forbid. AI features carry per-day usage limits and may be reduced, paused, or withdrawn at any time — including because a provider changes its pricing or terms.

The service

The editor is provided free of charge, “as is”, without warranties of uptime, fitness, or error-free operation. Features can change. We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the new version. The current text is always on this page.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for lost projects or exports
• We are not liable for how you use the editor or third-party media
• Mandatory consumer rights in Slovenia and the EU are not limited where the law forbids it

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Slovenia. Courts in Slovenia have jurisdiction, without limiting any mandatory consumer forum rights.
